ANZAC Day Morwell
Several of our veterans went into Morwell for the larger march and gathering.
Features of the time were the march with the Hunter’s whaler horses, the Caledonian Pipe Band and the Airforce Cadets. The Scout troops also joined the veterans to make the march impressive. Down Tarwin Street and around the cenotaph to form a circle they marched ready for the service.
An impressive catafalque party stood guard at the cenotaph
There were many wreaths laid including one from Hazelwood North Primary School.
The names of the fallen and deceased members was read. It was quite a long list.
The Morwell Citizens Band accompanied Sue Townsend as she led the singing.
The ceremony was on the same lines as Churchill.
The RSL was then open for the general public to share food and drinks
