Shop Local Christmas Market 2021

After all this year’s lockdowns and COVID restrictions it was really wonderful to see a great turn-out for Churchill’s Shop Local Christmas Market.

202112 Market - people inside shop with Christmas Tree

Thank you to all the folk who attended; we hope you had an enjoyable time!

An extra special thank you to those who Shop Local in Churchill – perhaps you were lucky enough to win one of the numerous $10, $25 and $50 vouchers that were given away to randomly selected customers of our local retail businesses on the day.

We were delighted with the number of stall-holders who booked a site; our market wouldn’t be a success without you. We hope you had a good day and your crafts and gifts sold well.

We’d like to thank all those who donated goods, sponsorship money and/or volunteer hours to our festive market. The list is long and shows that community spirit is strong!

Thanks to:

  • Lions Club of Churchill and Boolarra CFA for cooking all those sausages.
  • Gippsland Water for their sponsorship
  • Russell Northe for his support and attendance
  • Darren Chester
  • AA Accounting for contributing to our costs
  • Our local traders, including Ritchies IGA and Woolworths
  • Latrobe City Council for its on-going financial support for our Shop Local program

The Churchill Shop Local Program is a partnership between Churchill & District Community Association (CDCA), Churchill Neighbourhood Centre (CNC) and Churchill & District News (CD News). Our people put in many hours to make this event successful.

We covered the dollar value of the shopping vouchers that were given out at the market so that retailers are not out-of-pocket for these vouchers. It’s a win for retailers and a win for customers!
