Federal Member for Gippsland Darren Chester has welcomed the opening of Community College Gippsland's new Morwell facility, joining educators, students and community leaders to celebrate the milestone set to bolster the organisation's long-standing contribution to the region.

"Education is fundamental to building strong, thriving and productive regional communities," Mr Chester said.

A highlight of the official opening was hearing from former student James Trawin, who shared his personal story about how Community College Gippsland helped him throughout his educational journey, secure meaningful employment and gain self-belief.

"James' story was a powerful reminder of the life-changing impact education can have, not just for individuals, but for families and communities," Mr Chester said.

Mr Chester congratulated Community College Gippsland CEO Dale Gemmell and Operations Manager Jennifer McCafferty for their leadership and commitment in delivering the new facility.
