Local Author launches time-twisting tale at Kurnai College

Churchill writer John de Souza is set to launch his new junior novel, ‘Ted and the Time-Travelling Taxi’. A fast-paced adventure inspired by his own days at Kurnai College in 1997.

The story follows Ted, a new high-schooler facing bullies and an enigmatic discovery: a taxi that hurls him and his brothers into defining moments of their family’s past. Guided by an Elder and an English teacher, Ted’s journey becomes a lively mix of history, humour and heart.

De Souza describes himself as a laconic writer with a mission: to create short, punchy fiction that speaks to boys who are hesitant readers.

He extends sincere thanks to Kaylene Mustoe for her guidance and to Hollie Johnson for the striking cover art.
