Churchill Shop Local Market - April 2022

Although overcast, the predicted rain held off and a steady stream of people attended our most recent Churchill Shop Local Market.

Dozens of free sausages were consumed, a big thank-you to Churchill Fire Brigade and Latrobe Valley Neighbourhood Watch for doing all the cooking!

We had free fruit to give away too, thanks to Ritchies IGA and Woolworths supermarkets.

An assortment of market stalls were located at West Place and around Hazelwood Village Shopping Centre, with a range of hand-made goods, crafts and even some pre-loved items.

Our local Lifeline Opportunity Shop opened especially for the Saturday morning event and many folk had a browse through the pre-loved bargains.

Our popular musician, Bryce, entertained folk at Café Alfa and those who entered the Hazelwood Village Shopping Centre foyer.

The Anti-Theft Number Plate Screw Replacement program, conducted by LV Neighbourhood watch, was again popular. The car-park adjacent to Monash Way near the vacant shop (formerly the Video Store) is ideal for this service, as vehicles have the space to queue without impeding traffic.

An extra delight for families was free face-painting for children, not to mention some free children’s books donated by Ritchies IGA.

Shoppers at West Place and Hazelwood Village had the chance to win one of the 28 vouchers to use at nominated Churchill retail businesses. Winners are randomly selected as they go about their shopping at our Shop Local Market. Shopping voucher winners beamed!
