Flashback Fever Festival at Federation University Churchill.
This event on March 5 was aimed at connecting both beginning and current students with a range of internal and external services. It was an opportunity for students to begin thinking about their career outcomes, and what supports they may need to achieve their goals. There were food, games and a range of freebies available to students.
It followed the previous week's orientation events at the campus where new students were officially welcomed to connect with their peers, receive course overviews, tour the campus and attend skills workshops and panel discussions. There is a growing demand for courses with strong employment outcomes - the most popular courses for Federation students in 2026 are degrees in Nursing, Early Years Education and Information Technology.
Many Latrobe Valley agencies such as the Churchill Leisure Centre, Headspace and Wellways were represented at the festival and attracted considerable student interest, aided by the availability of many different freebies! All in all it was a successful day for the many varied participants.
The Churchill & District News was pleased to be in attendance also and network with the university
