The 55th Annual Strzelecki Showtime Presents
“Our Community, Our Place”

Strzelecki Showtime is an annual original musical theatre production, written, directed, produced and performed by the Scouts and Girl Guides of the Latrobe Valley and beyond.

This year’s production, Our Community, Our Place will see over 55 local young people on stage, as well as around 60 backstage, entertaining audiences at the new Gippsland Performing Arts Centre in Traralgon in October.

Our Community, Our Place is described as “Thornton Hall is the heart of many community groups, even if those groups don’t always get along. Nobody is shocked when the hall doesn’t meet its safety inspection, but nobody expected to be kicked out to the street. The exercise enthusiasts blame the car club and their half-constructed car in the back corner, with everybody busy blaming each other, the Hall is doomed. A tempting offer from Rattray Real Estate could convince the right people to do the wrong thing. Can these groups put aside their differences long enough to help get Thornton Hall out of danger? Some will rise up to the challenge, where others see an opportunity. Can Thornton Hall be saved and is it even worth saving?
